After 2 hours of hiking... the last 30 minutes crawling up on all fours... I made it to the top! And boy, was the view breathtaking! I don't know if it was the altitude, my lack of physical fitness, or just being tired after a week of working, but when I reached the top and looked out onto the valley, all I could do was stare in dumb amazement.

And then the tears came. What an emotional sap I am :P

Sitting there, sobbing, with the wind rushing all around me, I gazed at the valley I've come to call home, and mourned that I would have to leave. I wondered what God saw as he looked down at us from heights greater that I was at that moment. I imagined each one of my new friends, going about their business, and prayed that they were doing well, would continue to do well. I thought of my friends beyond the mountains, and prayed for them as well, that God would continue to keep them in His hand. And I wondered at how far-reaching His love is... how insignificantly small I would look to Him... but He came down and became small, like me... and met me where I was. Immanuel - God with us.
